WEEKLY SOCCER EVENT: June 12, 04
On June 12, GTNSC finally made a break through. Two weeks after establishment, we had 17 participants. Some in soccer shoes and some in sneakers made up two teams. The two no-name teams were formed at random. If permitted we could give them names; team Rawat and team Sapkota as their voice dominated the field. Anyway, they are good players. Mandeep Gurung, Diplav Ojha, Yam Khatri, Binod Shah and Bijay Basnet were all over the field- " hey they are young". Anil Pradhan, Deepak Ojha, Naba Raj Gurung and Bishwo Berma showed some great moves. Not to mention Bijay Shimkhada showed his ball moving tricks. Sanjiv you have to stop falling all over the field. Thanks to Prakash Gautam and Paras Parajuli for making from such a distance. You both were great. Has the water melted? Just kidding. The game finally ended at 10 am with a score of 10 (team Sapkota) and 8 for (team Rawat). The coordinator of GTNSC is thankful to all the participants and will reach via email for the upcoming event on June 19, 04. Thanks to Komal Sapkota for the soccer ball.

WEEKLY SOCCER EVENT: June 19, 04
June 19 was a great day for GTNSC. Avakash Dahal, Kesav Nepal, Ashok Chettri, Bibek Thapa, Ishaan Sharma, Chapitan Sherpa and Diplav Sapkota joined the family. These are all young dudes, vibrant and spirited. Anil Pradhan demonstrated his magnificent corner kick and Yam Khatri showed his goal keeping skills. Yam was a lifesaver. Balaram Giri was great and not to mention his trousers. Prakash Gautam and Paras Parajuli again showed up for the game from Brampton. Thanks. The game ended with a score of 8 for team A and 6 for team B. After the game the players decided to try penalty kicks. Team B performed miserably with only one goal scored by Diplav as opposed to 5 scored by team A. GTNSC is thankful to the contributors of soft drink and extends special thanks to Govind Rawat for the camera. Finally, GTNSC's prayers are with Govind Rawat for fast recovery from his surgery on Tuesday June 22, at St. Michaels Hospital. GTNSC expects everybody to be in the field on June 26, 04 at 8 am sharp.

WEEKLY SOCCER EVENT: June 26, 04
June 26 was funny. Madan Siwakota took seat just after his first kick; his back did not want to play soccer. It needs oil change. He chooses to be a commentator via his cell phone. Two teams (Avakash and Sapkota) were formed at random. What a combination, team Sapkota reined like tiger. The then on spot declared captains Anil Pradhan and Komal Sapkota again re-shuffled the teams and the match began. Now both the teams are well matched. Dudes like Bipun Thapa, Mandeep Gurung, Bijay Basnet, Binod Shah and Diplav Ojha were awesome. Binod Shah was so into the game that his words "Oh my God" were moments of laughter. After scores of 5 and 9, Mr. Deepak Ojha self-declared himself a referee and to everybody's surprise Mandeep had a whistle for him. What a coincidence? Now GTNSC also has a referee. Then from somewhere emerged Sumesh Rajkarnikar and joined team Anil Pradhan. Bishwo Berma's header goal was the goal of the day. Also, Komal Sapkota, Anil Pradhan and Naba Raj Gurung scored fine goals. The match finally ended with a score of 12 for team Sapkota versus 9 for team Anil and the rain also showered blessings at all the players like a clip in an Indian movie.

WEEKLY SOCCER EVENT: July 03, 04
July 3 was huge. Two teams of equal stamina were formed. Two goals each were scored within first three minutes of the game. Then came the real show. Nepali Ronaldo, Madan Siwakota had assimilated great strength from his "unlimited lamb chops and 12 eggs" menu at the picnic party. He proved to be 'Man of the match' scoring 4 goals. Komal Sapkota's defense was great and Bishwo Berma's header was greater. Awakash Dahal and Yam Khatri showed what ideal goalkeeping is? Binod Shah showed how to throw shoes into the air. Had Nike seen that he would have been hired as their model for 2005? Our new dude Dibesh did show great kicks and proved to be a fine player. The game ended at 10 am with a score of 9 and 7. GTNSC looks forward to playing a friendly match with Brampton/Mississauga on July 18 and expects all its players to be in the field for practice.

SOCCER FRIENDLY MATCH: July 18, 04
July 18 was a top-notch day for GTNSC- day of a neighborly match with Brampton/Mississauga. It had just been six hours that GTNSC had been into play or realizing in action, after being formed. Players looked sharp stinging wearing their new t-shirt and energy flowed showing vigorous strength. We were in 5 vehicles that arrived in Brampton at different times as a consequence of taking wrong turns. This was a set back for GTNSC temporarily. Just as we had gotten into the field the rain showered to a great degree. The field was not what we had apprehended. The grass was uncared-for and the goalposts too small for a striker show his faculty and flair. Anyway, we had to admonish ourselves it was a friendly match. Yes it was, so nothing weighted. Both the teams were conform and within 20 minutes, Diplov Ojha of GTNSC, scored an astounding goal. Then Brampton/Mississauga did a lot of team shuffling. GTNSC also replaced its players; chance was being given for others to participate. Brampton/Mississauga team was being applauded and solaced by their fans. Hey, it was their vicinity. O.K. After half time, AJ of Brampton/Mississauga scored a goal making it a draw. A lot of credit goes to GTNSC defense team for their grandiose play. Finally the game winded up and being a friendly match both the teams subscribed not to go for a penalty. After the game, GTNSC players and well-wishers recreated themselves at a near by Tim Horton's. Thanks to the sponsors (please email your names to gtnsc2004@yahoo.ca as the collection of donation was so spontaneous that Anil Jee could not remember the names). We will post that on our website. Also, GTNSC is appreciative of Mr. Prakash Gautam and Mr. Paras Parajuli for inviting us to play and extending a responsive welcome. Thanks to all your players, you all put up a great show. At last, thanks to Mr. Shyam Mahattra for the relishing lunch. GTNSC is in the process of methodizing another match. Details of it will shortly be posted on the website. All GTNSC players missed Mr. Rawat on July 18, we really missed you.

WEEKLY SOCCER EVENT: Aug 14, 04
Aug 14 was again a great day for GTNSC. After 3 weeks, players again met to play a spectacular match. Team captains, Ishaan and Binod chose players by turn. The two teams were well matched and it was a tough competition. The passes were well coordinated and so did the stickers show their talent. It was real hard to figure whether Mr. Sapkota was a goalkeeper or a halfback. All the young dudes showed high energy and performance. Mr. Anil's dribbling was of a high caliber and so was Sanjiv's left kick that ended to be a staggering goal. The match finally ended at 10 a.m with a score of 5 each.
